Children’s Program in Santa Clarita Valley

Shooting Stars provides a nurturing and exciting environment for even the youngest movers to begin their dance journey.  Join our caring faculty, as they help facilitate creative movement exploration while having fun with friends.  All students will receive a “personal prop box” filled with materials to use in class!

Dance With Me

(18 mos. - 2.5 yrs.)

With Parent / Guardian assistance in the studio. 

As the name implies, this class will encourage tiny movers to explore creative movement with fun music and follow along with directives to get active, exercise gross motor skills, dance and have fun.

Attire:  Comfortable, easy to move in clothing that is not distracting.

Shoes: For both student & adult, please make sure shoes are clean and free of sand, dirt, and debris before entering the studio.

Ballet & Tap

(2.5 - 3.5 yrs. and 3.5 - 5 yrs.)

(Must be able to participate in class independently.)

This class is an introduction to the artforms of ballet & tap.  We will teach beginning concepts and terminology.  These skills are taught in repetition, while also encouraging behaviors such as class etiquette, following directions and waiting your turn. 

Attire:  leotard & tights (any color), skirts optional.

Shoes: Ballet Shoes & Tap shoes are required.

Hair: Pulled Back neatly away from face

Tot Hop & Tumble

(3.5 - 5 yrs.)

(Must be able to participate in class independently.)

This class utilizes “kid friendly” up-tempo music and dancers will be introduced to beginning hip hop steps and work on coordination and musicality. The tumbling portion will focus on gross motor development including balancing and jumping and will introduce beginning tumbling concepts of forward rolls, handstands, and bridges.

Attire: Fitted, comfortable, easy to move clothing that is not distracting. No skirts. Be prepared to “be upside down”.

Shoes: Athletic shoes – please make sure shoes are clean and free of sand, dirt, and debris before entering the studio. 

Hair: Pulled back neatly away from face
